If you had Thai, Vietnamese, or Malaysian cuisines or desserts, you most likely have had Pandan flavor. This fragrant grass is known as Pandan Screwpine (Pandanus amaryllifolius) is an extremely popular herb used in savory and sweet dishes. Some refer to this as Asian Vanilla because it has a sweet, nutty, creamy fragrance. Pandan is also what gives most South East Asian food their green coloring.
This listing is for 1 healthy, fully rooted Pandan plant. It will be shipped in the pot that it's in to ensure the plant will get there as healthy and safely as possible.
♥How to Use♥
The juice of the leaves are extracted using a blender then strained to mix with coconut milk. It is also what gives the green coloring in most South East Asian dessert. Leaves can be dried for tea as well.
♥How to Grow♥
Pandan grows best in warm, filtered light. It is not cold hardy so it will need to be brought inside when weather is below 55F. They can be grown in full shade, or shade from afternoon sun. Although it is not necessary, but Pandan really enjoys humidity. Place a tray with some rocks and water then place the pot on top. Keep soil moist, or water the tray to allow the plant to intake as much water as it needs.
