ASHITABA SEEDS ARE HERE!!

This listing will be for 10 fresh Ashitaba seeds (we usually provide a couple extras just in case).  Seeds may be a mixture of green and brown.  Some seeds may come attached as a pair which is counted as 2 seeds. Unlike most vegetables, Ashitaba seeds do not germinate as easily and quickly as Broccoli, beets or radish.  Approximately 35%-70% of Ashitaba seeds will germinate.

>> NOTE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND purchasing these seeds if you are new at gardening. It's best to start this from a plant for better success.

Due to the fragile nature of Ashitaba seeds, we created a unique method to ship them so they can arrive to you healthfully.

How To Grow From Seed
There's two methods to starting Ashitaba from seed.

Method 1: Place a damp paper towel, or a bag of lightly moist soil with seeds inside.  Refrigerate for 2 weeks prior to planting. This is the conventional method mentioned by many growers.

Method 2: Sprinkle seeds directly in moist soil then lightly sprinkle about 1/4 inch of soil to cover.  Place a plastic dome, or bag on top to trap some humidity.  Poking holes in the bag can improve air circulation.  Place seed tray/pot in a warm, bright location.  Keep soil moist (not damp).  Lightly warm soil will help seeds to sprout. I find this way to be quite effective with my fresh harvested seeds.

Seeds may take 2-4 weeks to germinate. Once seedlings reach 2-3 inches tall, carefully separate the plants to transfer into larger containers.  Grow them in warm, bright location.  Keep soil moist.

♥About Ashitaba
Ashitaba, AKA "Tomorrow's leaf" -- is a biennial plant that offers many medicinal properties.  It is rich in anti-aging properties that helps maintain smooth, young skin.   It is high in vitamin B-12, vitamin C, calcium, iron.  Ashitaba helps detoxify the liver and kidneys, strengthen cartilages, bones (osteoporosis) and tendons, purifying blood, improving the immune system, treat hypertension, reducing the risk of cancer and the risk of brain disorders and heart problems.

Many mistaken this Ashitaba with others in the Angelica family.  The true Ashitaba (scientific name: Angelica keiskei koidzumi) as you can see in the photo -- the potent/medicinal variety has the yellow sap in the stem when it is more mature. I cut the largest stem of mine to show you in the photo. The base of a fully mature Ashitaba is the size of your wrist!

How To Use
Leaves and stems are edible.  The yellow sap is most potent and the leaves can be made or boiled as tea.  I would describe the taste of stem as a gin and tonic with a celery stick!
